Derbyshire Faculty of Advancing Practice
The Derbyshire Faculty of Advancing Practice is a collaborative, multi-professional initiative supporting the training and development of enhanced and advanced practitioners across Derbyshire’s health and care system.
The faculty brings together NHS providers, education partners, and system leaders to ensure practitioners are equipped to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care across all sectors.
It is part of a broader regional and national network tasked with delivering the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan by transforming advanced practice education and workforce planning at a local level.

Priorities
- Continuing to provide a robust systemwide governance structure for training and ensuring clinical capability.
- Improving access to and standardisation of education through curriculum development, multi-professional learning and improved governance of supervision.
- Support practitioners to maintain capability of through implementation of an ePortfolio and annual review process; improving access support and supervision.
- Improve career development for practitioners by creating opportunities for continuous professional development and supporting professional activities.
