During the current Covid-19 pandemic, health and care resources are being stretched like never before, and there is now a need for more staff to help out in Derbyshire’s care homes.

Care homes throughout the city and county have a number of vacancies and there has never been a better time to consider a career in care.

Successful applicants would be caring for some of the most vulnerable people in society, using all of their life skills in helping residents with a range of activities including personal care, medication and mobility.

The new recruits would gain new career skills, training opportunities, competitive pay and earn the pride of the nation – as anyone who has taken part in and witnessed the Thursday evening ‘Clap for Carers’ will understand.

Anyone interested in a role in care is being asked to fill out an application form and email it to Joined Up Careers Derbyshire at dhcft.joinedupcareers@nhs.net. Applicants seeking more information can also phone Hazel Jones, senior project officer, Joined Up Careers Derbyshire on 07973 625109.

Colleagues at Joined Up Careers Derbyshire will then work with care homes across Derbyshire to help place candidates and fill vacancies.
